The prizes awarded at the FOCUS AWARD 2011 amount to a total of 5,000 euros.
1st place is awarded 3,000 euros. 2nd place is 1,500 euros and 3rd place is 500 euros.
In addition, ten projects will be selected by a renowned jury and presented at an exhibition in the Dortmunder U, the new centre for art and creativity.
We also plan on publishing all speeches given, the workshop results as well as the portraits of the FOCUS Award winners in a thematic catalogue by the end of 2011. Pamela C. Scorzin and Willi Otremba will act as publishers of the book. The title of the publication will be »WELTENMACHER – Zur Ausweitung des Design-Begriffs in der zeitgenössischen Kultur«. (CREATORS of WORLD – on the expansion of the concept of design in contemporary culture.)
